At the car show there was a great cross section of Hot Rods, Customs, Classics and Muscle Cars making this years show even more successful than the prior three. George Barris was there to visit with the entrants, visitors, and car enthusiasts. The winners of each category were awarded a stunning and unique trophy and took a memorable photo with Mr. Barris.

The car show ran down Culver and Washington boulevards in the heart of downtown Culver City. The weather was perfect and visitors were thoroughly entertained. In the center of the festivities were George Barris’ Original Bat Mobile, Batman and Cat Woman. Herbie the Love Bug and many creative originals were displayed for all to see. If you were hungry the fire station was serving a delicious pancake breakfast. Many children enjoyed a photo opportunity with the perfectly behaved Dalmatian on top of an antique fire truck. There was also dancing in the streets to fabulous Big Band style music of the 50’s accompanied by Sock Hop dancers.

If you missed it this year, you can watch for it next year. It’s usually on the Saturday before Mother’s Day.
